At the Casual Connect – Netherlands, MJ Fahmi, CEO of Babil Games, gave an informative session, “F2P Contract and Deals 101”, about the nature of business between a mobile-game publisher and developer, what concerns they should both pay attention to and what methods to follow to reach successful cooperation.

In his talk, MJ explains the nature of the long-term business relationship between a developer and a publisher, and lists questions and concerns that should always be a priority for both parties, before agreeing to anything. He explains why the pricing should be the last thing to consider from either end.

MJ dives deep into the technical part of the revenue share model, and how the percentage agreed upon is based on several factors such as reputation of publisher, and games of developer. He also walks the audience through the terms and legality of the contracts and deals’ contract period and duration, payment methods, termination clauses, and intellectual property clarification.
